November is the strongest month of the quarter. Deepavali is a national public holiday, the stadium circuit at Bukit Jalil swings into gear, and the year-end mall campaigns begin to appear.

The Weeknd - After Hours Til Dawn Tour

Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 November 2026, 8.30pm

The final leg of The Weeknd's stadium tour lands at the former National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, with Japanese guests Creepy Nuts and DJ Y0UU.

Where: TM Stadium Nasional (National Stadium), Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur

Tickets: Ticketed and seated; sold through Live Nation Malaysia

Why go: It is the biggest international concert of the quarter, and Bukit Jalil is a 20-minute MRT ride from Bukit Bintang.

Deepavali (Festival of Lights)

Sunday 8 November 2026; public holiday observed Monday 9 November in Kuala Lumpur

A federal public holiday across Malaysia except Sarawak. Because it falls on a Sunday, Monday 9 November is the substitute public holiday in Kuala Lumpur and most states. Little India in Brickfields is the place to be.

Nyonya cuisine

Also called Peranakan this term refers to a unique fusion of different cultures which has occurred in Malaysia when it comes to preparing and eating food. The main ingredients have been the Chinese styles of cooking, but using spices and condiments from the Malay tradition. When combined with the other influences that are so broad in Malaysia this has built up a distinctive style all of its own.

The world famous laksa dish, which combines noodles with a spicy soup and many interesting small additions, is perhaps the best and most travelled of the Nyonya style of food.
